When it comes to “Saturday Night Live's” storied legacy, most would agree that Kristen Wiig rivals the greats. The hilarious and lasting characters she created during her seven-year tenure on NBC's long-running sketch show are among the best in the show's history.
This weekend, Wiig will host for the fifth time, giving her the coveted induction into the Five-Timers Club, but she's taking the opportunity to share her beloved character's No one knows who they will bring. Björk's weird impersonation or her weird little sister Dooneys. It's from a skit on “The Lawrence Welk Show,” but it probably wasn't that old.
Before the “Palm Royale” star takes the stage this Saturday night at Studio 8H with musical guest Ray, here's a list of Wiig's best characters.
Vanda “Super Showcase” model
Wiig famously lost out on this bombshell, “The Price is Right,” along with fellow cast member Maya Rudolph. There, Wiig played a sexy game show model with a no-nonsense accent and all her fancy prizes. She will win in the final round. It's going to be a good time when Vanda and her friends show up and say, “That's Chicken Man's guarantee!”

Kristen Wiig played a Target cashier alongside Justin Timberlake in a skit that aired on the May 9, 2009 episode of “Saturday Night Live.”
Many people still use Target, and this week Wiig brought back the Target Lady (the super-feisty cashier with a severe bowl cut and tendency to overshare) in the retail giant's ads. I hope to see her again on Saturday night. However, if you're checking out at Target Lady, it's best to have some change on hand.

The Saturday Night Live skit “Traffic School” aired on March 8, 2008, starring Bill Hader as Jim, Amy Adams as Regina, and Kristen Wiig as Penelope.
In Penelope's case, the one-upmanship is real and very intense. Penelope is the one who always does the weird hair twirl and, casually and always as an aside, he feels the need to share how much better he is than you. We're talking everywhere from Thanksgiving soup kitchens with Anne Hathaway to Taylor Swift's wedding receptions with Andy Samberg.

Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Vanessa Bayer during a sketch on the May 11, 2013, episode of SNL, “The Californians.”
This fan-favorite skit was definitely a group piece with many former “SNL” cast members (including Fred Armisen and Bill Hader), but especially as Hader rose to fame midway through, Wiig's 405 The blonde bombshell on the highway was glue. skit. Hopefully Wiig's return will be an opportunity to revive the Californian. Be sure to take 10 pieces!
Way back in 2009, Wiig visited “Weekend Update” for Barbie's 50th birthday…a hard plastic doll itself. Of course, in the meantime, thanks to Greta Gerwig's 2023-defining film, Mattel dolls have invaded the national consciousness and cultural discourse at a level never seen before, so who knows? Perhaps Wiig will be wielding that jointless plastic arm again.

The simplest skits are often the funniest on “SNL,” and viewers just can't help but be thrilled when Sue shows up on Saturday, the excited family member who just can't keep the secret of the surprise party a secret. is sufficient. . We might all say: Hmm!”
