VINTON, Va. (WFXR)—The 69th The annual Dogwood Festival is scheduled to be held on Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th.
The two-day festival features more than 125 craft vendors and an additional 25 corporate and nonprofit vendors, three festival entertainment stages, street entertainment, an antique car show, a free kids zone, and a free family activity area. will appear.
Kicking off the festival on Friday will be the Frequency Band, playing everyone's favorite hits spanning the '70s, '80s and '90s on the Vinton Farmers Market Stage from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and guests receive: Access to beverage garden and dining options.
Saturday is a day full of fun activities for the whole family, including a large craft show, business showcase, antique car show, and live entertainment on three main stages. Buskers, jugglers, and magicians also roam the audience and perform throughout the day.
Starting at 2 p.m., the newly designed Dogwood Walk Walking Parade will follow a route through downtown Vinton starting at Cleveland Street and ending at Lee Avenue. All ages can enjoy performances by the William Byrd High School Band and Scottish Pipes. , Island Trio Band, Miss Kitty's Astronaut Stilt Walker and many more. The parade will feature an interactive section for anyone who wants to join in the fun.
As an annual tradition, the Vinton Dogwood Festival Queen's coronation and her court presentation take place on the Vinton City Hall stage at noon. In addition to being named after her queen, William Byrd students receive a scholarship and a crown and have the honor of riding alongside the queen in her court during the parade.
