At the latest red carpet event, actor Anna Paquin posed for photos in a sparkling black dress, ankle boots, and a matching cane to complete her sophisticated look.
The “Irishman” and “X-Men” actor showed off that last item Wednesday night at the New York premiere of her film “A Bit of Light,” where she appeared in two “difficult” '' during the year, he also revealed that he had been living with health issues that had not been made public.
“It wasn't easy,” Paquin, 41, told People magazine.
The magazine reported Wednesday that the actor's health issues have affected his mobility and required a cane. Due to an undisclosed illness, Paquin also said he was experiencing some difficulties with his speech.
Sources told PEOPLE that they expect Paquin to make a full recovery. Details regarding the actor's condition were not disclosed.

At the premiere, Paquin also told People that he finds solace in his work amid health issues, noting, “My first love was independent filmmaking.”
“That's how I got into the film industry. I was working with people who were passionate about telling stories and telling them with integrity and truth,” she said.
Among Paquin's collaborators on “A Bit of Light” is her husband, actor and director Stephen Moyer. The couple have 11-year-old fraternal twins Charlie and Poppy.
“A Bit of Light” also stars Ray Winstone, Pippa Bennett-Warner and Youssef Kerkur. The film will be released in select theaters and video-on-demand platforms on Friday.
