NEW YORK — James Patterson is launching a true crime series on streaming service Fox Nation. Hosted by the million-selling author, “Unsolved With James Patterson” will premiere on Monday and will be broadcast in three segments.
According to Fox Nation, Patterson's series will include three unsolved murders. One is the death of a schoolteacher in Louisiana who became increasingly unstable and was held captive in his home with a gun and a camera before being found with a shotgun wound to the head. A Utah student who joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but then disappeared. Then the altruistic San Francisco resident disappeared and was later found dismembered.
“I was completely taken by these cases,” Patterson said in a statement. “The fact that these are true stories and that we can help bring justice to the victims and their families is very special.”
The series includes interviews with friends, relatives, and law enforcement officials.
Mr. Patterson has sold more than 400 million copies of his books and has written nonfiction books about the Kennedy family, John Lennon, and others, as well as numerous thrillers. Last week, Fox Nation announced it had reached an agreement with Martin Scorsese to host, narrate and produce an eight-part religious docudrama called “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints.”
