Orlando, Florida – Icon Park is known for the Orlando Eye that towers over this tourist attraction, but more may be coming to the dining and entertainment area.
An application filed Tuesday with Orange County reveals site plans for a 409-seat entertainment venue and three retail stores totaling more than 38,000 square feet. This new plan is in addition to his two previously submitted hotel plans.
This week, the Orlando Eye came under new ownership of Merlin Entertainment. The filing also comes a year after Icon Park and Orlando Slingshot settled a wrongful death lawsuit with the family of Tire Sampson, a teenager who died after falling from an Orlando Freefall Drop Tower in 2022. It has been submitted. It was later removed after this tragic accident. .

The latest proposal doesn't have many details, but site plans show a one-story building would be built at the base of the Orlando Eye.
News 6 reached out for comment and received the following statement from Icon Park:
“There are always exciting initiatives underway at Icon Park, and 2024 promises to be another year of growth. We continue to add innovative new experiences to our 20-acre destination. We look forward to sharing even more exciting news with our world-class partners in the coming months.”

It may take some time for this type of project to move forward. The process must first go through Orange County, and if approved, development could take several years.
