Priscilla Presley believes Elvis was “a great human being” even though he had an affair.
The 78-year-old star was married to Elvis between 1967 and 1973, and the music icon admits he was “constantly” subject to temptation.
She told people: “So the opportunity was always, always there.
“Even when he went on tour in other states, they knew he was coming and were making offers…and don't get me wrong, to this day, I still don't like Elvis. I have never not loved you.
“He was a great human being. He had a big heart, but unfortunately he was Elvis Presley and all the women, all the girls went after him. I don't know how he would be received. I understand.”
Priscilla also recalled seeing Elvis on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and being amazed by him.
She was only 14 when she first met Elvis, and recalled, “I thought, 'Hey, who is this guy?'” He was so gorgeous and the way he moved was amazing, but of course his moves were vulgar and he was criticized, and lo and behold, the news was shocking. ”
Priscilla met Elvis in Germany when she was still a teenager, and the two bonded.
“It was very difficult for my parents to understand that Elvis was so interested in me and why. I really think it was because I was a listener.”
“Elvis poured out his heart to me in Germany in every way: his fears, his hopes, the loss of a mother he never got over. And I actually sat there listening to him and comforting him. That was really our connection.”
