Journey's “Don't Stop Believing” has been named the greatest song of all time by Forbes magazine.
The 1981 song from Journey's seventh studio LP, Escape, went 18 times platinum and officially became the biggest song in music history.
Neal Schon, Journey's founding member and lead guitarist, wrote in X: “The world's biggest song in the history of music has officially been born! Congratulations everyone.”
Former Journey frontman Steve Perry celebrated the milestone with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
He writes: “When this article came out, 'Don't Stop Believin', the Greatest Song of All Time,' I was so emotionally stunned.
“Being part of moments like this reminded me of my parents. I mean, I lost them many years ago, but I felt so happy for them. I really owe everything that's happening to my parents. My dad was a singer and they were both very musical. So on behalf of my dad and mom, I want to thank you all for your support over the years. – Sincerely, Steve Perry
Neil then commented on Steve's post: “Awesome, Steve. God bless you. I'm also looking back on the amazing time I had writing this song. Respect, Neil Schon.”
Meanwhile, Journey previously announced a 50th anniversary UK and Ireland arena tour starting this autumn.
The Freedom Tour kicks off at Cardiff's Utilita Arena on October 30th, before heading to Glasgow, Dublin, Liverpool and Birmingham.
It ends on November 17th at London's O2.
