Sports arenas, medical centers, and luxury apartments are some of the developments people will soon see in Lake County. Developers are moving forward with a major project that could turn the city of Clermont into a destination. Clermont is considered the choice of champions and the training ground for American Olympic athletes. Olympus hopes to elevate the city's standing with the community development district it is building. “It's a place where you can walk from your residence and get a quick bite to eat and then go to a sports event,” said Dan Wilson, head of sales and capital advisory at First Capital Property Group. Wilson's team is his agent for the exclusive listing of tenants coming to his Olympus Town center. The 243-acre district will blend sports, wellness, entertainment, and housing. “Live, work, play is really uplifting,” Wilson said. The city approved the project a year ago after construction delays due to COVID-19, but staff is on track to stay on track. “The homes are in the early stages and Integra is almost complete,” Wilson said. “They're off to a great start in the leasing business.” People living in Olympus have everything at their fingertips. It includes a health center, fitness center, hotel, restaurants, offices, retail stores, a lakeside amphitheater, and a sports arena with over 5,000 seats. The town center will help increase employment opportunities and income. “It's going to be a nice blend of a small boutique-type concept and a national name that everyone knows and loves,” Wilson said of the upcoming development. Olympus' construction schedule has not yet been finalized. The developer has not disclosed how much the project will cost.
