Rosalind Chao hopes to return for the 'Freaky Friday' sequel.
The 66-year-old actress played Pei Pei in the 2003 fantasy comedy film and is hoping to reprise her role in the sequel after Lindsay Lohan recently confirmed the project was in the works.
Asked if she would like to reprise her role, Rosalind told ComicBook.com: “I would love to reprise my role. “Of course! It was a really fun experience.
“First of all, I really love the director, Mark Waters. I love everyone on this movie so I'll just say a little bit.
“So when I filmed 'Freaky Friday,' I loved all of them so much that I came back and gave them a free day to film the wedding that went viral on TikTok.” I even gave it to them because I liked spending time with them.”
The original film saw a mother (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her teenage daughter (Lohan) swap bodies for one day, and the latter confirmed earlier this month that plans for the long-awaited sequel are “in the works.” It was announced that.
She told People magazine: ”[I’m] I'm excited to work with Jamie again and see how far we can move forward.
“I think this is really fun because we basically talk about every other day.”
While touring around the world to promote Halloween Ends, Jamie previously noticed how many people were interested in a sequel and urged Disney to make a new Freaky Friday. He revealed the circumstances behind his approach.
She told the New York Times: “When I went around the world with 'Halloween Ends,' people wanted to know if there would be another 'Freaky Friday.'
“Something really struck a chord. When I got back, I called my friends at Disney and said, 'I feel like there's going to be a movie made.'”
