Josh Homme wants Them Crooked Vultures to reunite.
The Queens of the Stone Age frontman recorded a self-titled album with the supergroup in 2009, and in 2022 performed Dave at a memorial concert for the Foo Fighters singer's late bandmate Taylor Hawkins. Grohl briefly reunited with Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, who now admits he would like to “get the band back together” again.
Asked about the possibility of the group's revival in a Reddit AMA, he responded in the video: “It's not my job to put the Vultures back together, it's Dave's job. My job is to dance around, write words, and try to write music.
“I really want to, and Dave knows that. I really hope the Vultures can get back together and fight one more round.”
Dave admitted he would like to return to the studio with Josh and John Paul in 2021.
He told Apple Music Hits: “I would love to do it again someday.”
The 'Learn To Fly' hitmaker explained that his 'dream band' was born when he was invited to present an award to members of Led Zeppelin in London.
Furthermore, he added: “Them Crooked Vultures is a drummer’s dream band because Josh is more than just a soloist and I get to be part of this three-piece rhythm section.
“Josh plays the drums. He plays the guitar like a drummer, and John Paul Jones is the greatest rock and roll bassist in the history of music. When he sat down and started playing, it was 30 seconds to a minute. After a while, I realized that this was a real band.”
Meanwhile, Josh previously hailed his friendship with Dave as “one of the longest romances I've ever had”.
He told NME: “Dave is the longest and most successful relationship I've ever had. He's such a nice guy, but I love his dark side too. We're going to the next place.'' This place, I won't say the name, but just to have breakfast and waffles and talk about the old days.'' . ”
