Dua Lipa's third album, Radical Optimism, will be released on May 3rd.
The 'Levitating' hitmaker has finally announced the title and release date of her next LP, explaining that the 11-song record is inspired by British music history.
She said in a statement: “A few years ago, a friend introduced me to the term 'radical optimism.'
“This was a concept that resonated with me, and once I started playing with it and weaving it into my life, I became even more curious.
“I was struck by the idea of moving through chaos with grace and feeling like you can weather any storm.
“At the same time, I found myself researching the musical history of psychedelia, trip-hop and Britpop. It's always been a confident and optimistic thing for me, and its honesty and attitude are feelings I brought into the recording sessions. .”
The album cover depicts Dua in the ocean with sharks swimming nearby.
A follow-up to 2020's Future Nostalgia, the record's tracks include “French Exit,” “Maria,” and “Falling Forever,” as well as previously released singles “Houdini” and “Training Season.” included. .
Dua previously described her new record as capturing a period of major change in her life, including the end of a relationship and her foray into dating.
She added to Rolling Stone: “This record feels a little more raw.
“I want to capture the essence of youth and freedom and having fun and just letting things happen, whether it's good or bad. You can't change that. You can't change that. Whatever happens in your life, you just have to accept it.”
