Combining more than just a band name, Forejour (pronounced “Forger”) brings together Foreigner and Journey's greatest hits in a recreated 1980s soundtrack.
Their multimedia show visually and audibly transports viewers back to MTV's heyday with rare videos that accompany the live soundtrack.
Foréjours brings decade-spanning favorites from the '80s to the Empress Theater on March 23rd.
The group's set list includes the most downloaded song of the 20th century, “Don't Stop Believin',” as well as power ballads like Foreigner's “I Want To Know What Love Is” and Journey's “Faithful.” It is. At Fores Journals, the multi-platinum selling duo's unique pairing of her two popular bands will keep the audience on their feet throughout the show.
In a seemingly endless stream of 'tribute' acts, Foreseurs offers a unique performance as a double tribute.
After eight years of performing as “Replica: '80s Rock Revisited,” band co-founder and bassist Chris Keller said: ”
The East Bay band has done just that, building a following for Forager that now plays sold-out shows at performing arts centers, theaters, and wineries across California.
Knowing what the audience wants is half the show for this tribute band. That's why they keep playing “Don't Stop Believin'” until the end. This show-stopping song, which everyone can't help but sing along to, continues to rouse audiences just as it did when it debuted at #9 in 1991.
“There's definitely a standing ovation,” Keller said.
For the guys at Forejour, it's not about imitating Journey or Foreigner. It's about evoking that feeling you heard in their heyday.
Lead vocalist David Kelleher perfectly recreates the distinctive vocal sounds of Steve Perry and Lou Gramm. Kelleher is joined by Eric Wood on drums and vocals, Robert Carrasco on keyboards, and Neil Crouch on guitar.
“We honor the music more than the band,” Keller said. “We don't try to look like them. There are no stage props. It's about the music. It's the synergy of great melodies, chord structures and lyrics. It has to be executed faithfully.”
Through a series of rock anthems, power ballads, and singalongs, Foréjours transports an entire theater back to the '80s for one night.
