Mary J. Blige once hated her voice.
The Grammy Award-winning star “didn't like” her voice for years, but a journey of self-love helped her change her opinion.
Mary, 53, told TODAY with Hoda and Jenna: She “didn’t like the sound of her own voice.
“But now I listen to my music and love everything about me.
“I hated everything about me: my voice, my speaking voice. And I was afraid of the music coming back.”
Mary's self-love journey actually helped her change her entire outlook on life.
The chart-topping star said, “We grow up thinking we can't brag and brag and love ourselves, but now I'm doing all of those things. And I love you, because I earned it.''
“I'm having a lot of fun with myself. I'm like, 'Girl, you look great. I'm so proud of you. Oh, you look great.'” , I'm often alone, so I'm always thinking, “Oh, Mary, I love that! Let's wear this tonight. It's going to be hot!”

Despite this, Mary admits that she still has shortcomings and is always trying to learn and improve herself.
The “Family Affair'' hitmaker and highly successful actress is finally determined to “do the right thing'' with her life.
