Lindsay Lohan says a sequel to Freaky Friday is “in the works,” adding that she's “thrilled” to be working with Jamie Lee Curtis again.
The 2003 film was popular with millennials, and both actors played mother and daughter who swap bodies.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Jamie again and seeing how far we can go.”
Lohan, 37, said she speaks with Oscar-winning actress Curtis, 65, “almost every other day.”
However, he did not say when filming would begin or whether the script was completed.
“I won't say that yet,” Lohan told SiriusXM radio. “I don't want to say too much.'' He added: “We're both excited. I'm going to speak for Jamie.''
In “Freaky Friday,” a mother-daughter duo eats a magical Chinese fortune cookie that causes them to switch bodies.
Curtis and Lohan, who played Tess and Anna Coleman respectively, are expected to return to the role after more than 20 years.
The film also starred the late Sex and the City star Willie Garson and NCIS' Mark Harmon.
The film is based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Mary Rogers, and is the third film adaptation of the novel.
Lohan, who also starred in The Parent Trap, will star in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Irish Wishes.
Curtis, best known for his acting in the horror genre, won an Oscar last year for his role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
