Addressing the opening session, President of the Comoros and AU President Azali Assoumani stressed the critical importance of intensifying efforts to promote stability and development on the continent.

AU Commission Chairman Moussa Faki Mahamat echoed similar sentiments, stressing the need for AU Member States to jointly address the persistent challenges that jeopardize Africa's development aspirations.
“The importance of our main challenges has not diminished: peace, political and institutional instability, climate change, deficiencies in economic governance, poverty, women in the process of development and leadership in political and social systems. and youth alienation remains our main source of concern,” Fakih said.

He also called for greater socio-economic and infrastructure integration in Africa to accelerate the realization of key development goals.
