There's something about picking up a pair of scissors, cutting off your own hair, and then instantly regretting your choice.
A woman who was entrusted with kitchen shears filmed her experience and it became a hot topic. She used them to cut her medium-length hair into a blunt bob as she went through her “all stages of grief” through the process.
Emilia Burnie shared this video on TikTok (@emiliaburnie) on May 19th. The video of her impulsive cut quickly went viral, garnering more than 610,000 views and 76,000 likes since it was posted on Sunday.
I divided my hair into four ponytails, placed my dog next to me for emotional support, and thought about whether my clothes would go well with this hairstyle before taking the plunge and cutting off the bottom of the hair tie to expose my long bob. Ta.
The front to section looked promising, but a closer look revealed that the cut was “already uneven” due to Bernie's poor start.
Having already taken off half of her bangs, she started cutting the back of her head to match, leaving her with a messy bob that fell just above her shoulders, but would have looked incredible once trimmed.
Bernie herself admitted that she should have stopped there, but continued cutting, adding a few more inches to her hair.
It wasn't a simple change. Barney kept cutting her length down, trying out several different styles, then picked up the scissors again and cut the front part of her hair straight. Even my dog looked incredulous.
After tying her hair back so the cut was straight, she reached for her thinning scissors while asking, “Layers need to save this, right?!” before showing viewers the final result: a chin-length choppy bob.
The video ended with Barney looking upset as he gave the camera a thumbs up, but he quickly recovered and posted a follow-up video, assuring viewers that he was “loving it now”. .
What does the comment say?
Despite Bernie being unsure, the comment section was quick to reassure him that the cut was the right choice, with one user writing: First chop, I'm very happy. ”
“If you plan on cutting your hair in the future, buy some real hair scissors,” one commenter advised. “There will be fewer irregularities and it will be easier to cut.”
Another TikTok user wrote, “No, it's so summery and cute.”
