Getting a tattoo requires a lot of determination. Anything thoughtfully (or completely randomly) carved into your body will remain.
With such permanence, the last thing you want is for your tattoo to fail.
And unfortunately for this woman, a night of drinking resulted in a rather unfortunate tattoo on her arm.
But after a few drinks with friends in 2020, Natalie Rene had a brilliant idea to order a £50 DIY kit online and give it a try.

The 35-year-old was expecting a love heart with an arrow stuck in her left forearm, but instead ended up with something “like a hairy penis”.
The Loughborough woman said: “We had to go to the hospital because his tattoo was so deep, it was bleeding and it was so painful.
“The doctors said it was very dangerous and he was lucky he didn't lose his arm because he got the tattoo so deep.”
She also had a “weird spiral thing” on her leg, a love heart on her hand, an arrow on her foot and “a semicolon thing” on her wrist that were added to her the same night.
Natalie said, “As soon as I woke up in the morning, I was drunk when I had the procedure done, so I thought, “This is not what I imagined,'' but then reality set in.''

“My family was very angry and said I was stupid and had to get rid of it.
“I feel frustrated, but I will take responsibility and respond accordingly.''
And after living with the tattoo for three years, she ended up spending £1,350 to cover up everything but her “hairy penis” and heart.

Man's £46,000 tat controversy sparks
A woman sheds tears over a failed tattoo.
She no longer speaks to her friend who got the tattoo, but she still has the kit.
“I'm a bit of a hoarder, but I haven't gotten rid of it yet,” Natalie said.
“When me and my friends are a little drunk, my friends tell me to let it out and I'm like, 'No.'
“It never ends well, and it never ends well.”
Scar “looked like a penis” (SWNS)
The tattoo on his arm led to many awkward moments when nurses saw it and “snickered.”
“The scar from the arrow tattoo looks like a penis,” she explained.
Now that it's more than £1,000 cheaper, she doesn't think it should be so easy to buy a tattoo kit.
“It's the stupidest thing to do, but it's the easiest thing to get,” Natalie added.
“I don't know what drove me to get them. I wanted a time machine.”
