“Years ago, in our previous house, my husband and I wanted to turn a shed into a mini-office. We put half the money upfront and they came and built three-quarters of the brick wall. I built it,” she confessed.
“We never saw them again. There's nothing you can do. You'll think, 'God, how could I be so stupid?' Are you a fool. I'm a bright girl.
“It's not the loss of money, it's the psychological impact of losing trust and self-esteem,” she explained.
