A budget-conscious shopper used a DIY project to transform his front yard with solar lights purchased at Dollar Tree.
Affordable and functional garden decorations looked great especially on the lawn at night.
Stephanie (@windycitycrafts1) shared an easy DIY in a TikTok video.
She picked up three hanging glass jars and three solar lights for $1.25 each on a shopping trip to Dollar Tree.
Once she got her delicious treats home, she lined up all the ingredients at her workstation and fastened her seatbelt.
Stephanie peeled off the bottom of the solar light and set it aside.
Next, she removed the yellow sticky light and verified that the light turned on.
With the lid off the glass jar, I applied a thick layer of adhesive and hot glue around the rim and quickly shined sunlight on the opening before the glue set.
To spruce up her front yard, she created a mini light pole by adding planter stakes in the soil and hanging lights on hooks.
When the sun set, a magical light transformed her front garden, illuminating the path and preventing her from tripping over anything.
“I love the added lights. I think it turned out really cute. Have fun creating it!” she said.

“That's great, but how do you replace the battery once it's glued to the glass?” one commenter asked.
