“At approximately 3 a.m. this morning, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's 3rd District responded to the area of ​​7th Avenue NW and P Street in response to a report of a shooting,” Chief Jeffrey Carroll said. said at a press conference. “The initial information we have at this time is that seven people were shot at this location and two were later pronounced dead.”
The other five people who were shot were taken to local hospitals. All those shot were adults, and there is no update on their condition at this time.
