If you've tried everything to grow your eyelashes, this DIY solution might be just right for you.
A woman has revealed her homemade trick for getting longer, thicker lashes.
In a Reddit post, user Suncica_ shared two ingredients that gave her immediate results.
The original poster said that the DIY beauty trick made her fake eyelashes look like fake lashes.
“I used this last year and it really lengthened my lashes,” explained one social media user.
She explained that over-the-counter eyelash growth products had little effect, so she decided to create her own.
“First, I bought some cheap empty mascara bottles on AliExpress, like 50 cents,” she said.
“I filled the bottle about 3/4 with castor oil and the remaining 1/4 with vitamin E oil.”
Health expert Dr. Marisa Garshick spoke to CNN about castor oil's potential role in promoting hair growth.
“Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid that may increase blood circulation to the scalp, resulting in healthier, stronger hair,” she said.

However, the doctor added that there is no research to back up the ingredient's hair growth benefits.
Medical News Today reported on the effects of Vitamin E oil on hair growth.
He cited confirmed studies that showed that the vitamin, unlike castor oil, helps prevent hair loss.
A study by the National Library of Medicine showed that one ingredient in vitamin E oil was significantly more effective than a placebo at treating thinning hair.
The poster raved about the homemade mixture and said it worked within a few weeks.
“I noticed a big difference in just two weeks,” she explained.
“After a month, my eyelashes were so much longer and thicker.”
What causes hair loss?
Alexander Armand is a famous hairstylist and creator of the hair loss oil Flourish by Alexander Armand.
“Common causes of hair loss include stress, alopecia, hereditary hair loss, chemical treatments, stressful hairstyles, diet and certain medications,” Armando told the US Sun.
“Androgenic alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness, is the most common cause of hair loss and is a genetic condition that causes hair thinning on the crown and top of the head in women and a thinning and receding hairline in men.
“Telogen effluvium is the technical term for temporary hair loss that occurs when many hair follicles enter the resting phase (resting phase) due to stress, illness, surgery, childbirth or any major life change.
“Hair usually regrows within a few months.
“Alopecia areata is another form of alopecia and is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks hair follicles, causing partial hair loss.
“The severity of the condition varies from person to person; some people lose all their hair, while others experience hair regrowth.
“In terms of diet, deficiencies in nutrients such as iron, vitamin D, biotin, zinc and protein can lead to hair loss.
“Traction alopecia can be caused by tight hairstyles such as ponytails, braids or buns which put stress on the hair follicles.
“Excessive heat styling and chemical processing can also damage hair.
“Also, certain medications, such as chemotherapy drugs, blood thinners and some antidepressants, can cause hair loss as a side effect.”
She added that the solution left her bottom lashes looking longer than she would like.
“Several people have asked me if I wear fake eyelashes,” she says.
Reddit users shared their thoughts about the recipe in the comments section.
“I did this too and it really made a dramatic difference,” one reader wrote.
“[I’m] “I'm definitely going to try this,” said another confident person.
