At North Carolina State's Chapel Hill campus, fraternity boys fought back when anti-Israel demonstrators tried to replace the American flag with a Palestinian flag. They intervened to keep the American flag from touching the ground, even as protesters surrounded them and threw insults, water and other objects.
A GoFundMe was set up to fund an “outrage” for UNC Fraternity Brothers who helped defend the Star-Spangled Banner on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.
Pi Kappa Phi member Guillermo Estrada explains: People started throwing water bottles, stones, sticks at us and calling us profane names. We stood for an hour, holding the flag that so many people are fighting to protect. ”
