FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Recent data from the FBI reveals that the Natural State has some of the highest crime rates in the country, but some cities have more crime than others. It's also safe.
A new report released by Safewise has found that most of the top 10 safest cities in Arkansas are located in northwest and central Arkansas.
The report analyzed Federal Bureau of Investigation crime data, the most recent data available, to identify cities with the lowest crime rates.

According to Safewise, Arkansas has the second highest violent crime rate in the nation, with 6.9 violent crimes per 1,000 residents, compared to the national average of 4.0.
Additionally, Arkansas had the sixth-highest property crime rate, with 25.5 violent crimes per 1,000 residents, compared to the national average of 20.7.

Other notable statistics in the report include:

The only two cities on the list with zero robberies were Greenbrier and Gentry.

Robberies account for 18% of all property crimes in Arkansas.

Auto theft accounted for 10% of all property crimes in Arkansas, 29% lower than the national average.

Cave Springs was the only city to report one aggravated assault.
