Craft and DIY enthusiast Stacey Solomon has revealed how her latest project accidentally left her with a bruised eye.
The Loose Women panellist, 34, and her family recently adopted two ducklings from their home, Pickle Cottage, in Essex.
She had already built a play area for her chickens, but decided to take it a step further and build a chicken coop.
But on Tuesday, she took to Instagram to explain that in her enthusiasm, she suffered a severe cut over her left eye.
Sharing the video on her Instagram Stories, the mum-of-five told her 5.9 million followers, “I was like, 'If I don't get it up now, I won't get it up until the weekend'. A normal person would be like, 'It's OK to get it up on the weekend, the chickens aren't going to be in the coop for another six weeks' but my bad habit is if something is in front of me, I need to do it straight away.”
“So I was literally persevering in the evening light trying to build a duck coop, climbing onto the roof and reaching the triangular part of the roof and dropping it onto my eye. [laughs].
“Oh my, why am I like this? Tomorrow's shoot will be fun. Tomorrow it'll be worse. The day after tomorrow it's always worse.”
However, the ordeal didn't take away from her joy that it all worked out in the end, adding: “But it was worth it. I'm going to give the chicken coop a really nice look.”
“We still have to lay the foundations and dig the pond, but it's really cool and we're really excited about it.”
