Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt reignite their Babenheimer battle with an epic rendition of Taylor Swift's “All Too Well” during Gosling's “Saturday Night Live” monologue, featuring the real Barbie Oppenheimer appeared dancing with puppets.
Gosling began his third SNL monologue with a callback to Ken, who earned him an Academy Award nomination and his wild live performance at the Oscar ceremony. In a surprising revelation, Gosling said he wasn't going to joke about Ken because they had to break up. “It's not funny,” Gosling said. :Ken and I had to break up. I went too deep. And then it was over. ”
However, the actor revealed that he is not yet completely done processing the loss, saying, “A breakup feels like a breakup. There's really only one thing that helps you process a breakup. The great Taylor… It's Swift's music.” Cue piano, shades, and a new take on Swift's classic “All Too Well,” which will feature prominently on Gosling's upcoming album Fall Guys.
As Gosling continues to sing in front of the audience, dressed as Ken and donning his iconic white fur coat, he is quickly interrupted by his “Fall Guys” co-star Emily Blunt, who reveals his plans for a “Fall Guys” monologue. I was angry that I had deviated from this. He said, “I'm embarrassed.”
The jabs continue as Gosling continues to spit out Kenasy, and Blunt reappears, this time hitting Gosling in the head with a glass bottle and eventually a chair. When a surprised Gosling appealed to Blunt for her softer side, she recalled her film Oppenheimer, which was also nominated for an Oscar.
“I mean, I know it was a lesser movie,” Gosling says.
“That wasn't the case. As a matter of fact, we want to win everything,” Brandt retorts.
“But have you won people's hearts? I don't think so. But don't you feel lonely?”
Brandt agrees, and, supported by dancers and billboards, they band together to cheer on the two Babenheimer characters.
Gosling previously hosted the show in 2015 and 2017. His past notable skits include the popular “Papyrus,'' “Santa Baby,'' and “Close Encounters,'' in which he took multiple breaks from acting with his “Barbie'' co-star Kate McKinnon. included.
