Dutch cheese specialist Royal Hollandia's line of flavored cheeses includes Mediterranean Herb, Black Garlic, Walnut, Berry Berry Goat and Garden Herb.
Carly Corvino, Royal Hollandia's associate brand manager, said the combination fits well with the company's diverse wedge lineup, which includes Mild Gouda, Mild Goat, Mild Edam, Mild Marsdam and Beechwood Smoke.
“Royal Hollandia Wheels, Balls and Wedges offers a wide range of products perfect for consumer entertainment.”
According to Corvino, Mild Gouda has a mild taste and creamy texture, Mild Maasdam has a slightly sweet and nutty flavor, and Beechwood Smoked Cheese is creamy and flavorful.
Royal Hollandia's bestseller in the flavor department is Mediterranean Herb, Garden Herb Berry Berry Goat.
Corvino said the Mediterranean herb is a “great fusion” of flavor notes of black olive, tomato, basil and garlic.
Demand for flavored cheese is definitely increasing, she added.
“Now, post-pandemic, consumers are having more gatherings and parties and are using these cheeses on things like cheese boards and charcuterie boards.”
Trending flavors in this category include herbs, strawberries, garlic, smoked pepper, and chili peppers.
