March 13, 2024 — In partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau, the Population Reference Bureau (PRB) is launching a new Decennial Census-focused study to help the Census Bureau engage with data users. We are accepting applications for membership on two steering committees, including the Committee. The application deadline is Thursday, April 4, 2024.
PRB is a nonpartisan, nonprofit research organization focused on improving human health and well-being through evidence-based policies and practices. PRB is a long-time partner of the Census Bureau and is committed to informing and educating the data user community about the importance and value of data from the American Community Survey (ACS) and the decennial census. new Decennial Census Data User Group (Decadal DUG) Steering Committee There will be approximately 10 to 12 members who will guide the development of the new online community forum. This forum allows users of Decennial Census data to discuss issues related to his Decennial Census data products. During the first year, committee members will participate in monthly virtual meetings to help define the scope, website design, and implementation strategy for the new online community forum. Following the first year, committee members will participate in the release and monitoring of the new online forum.
of American Community Survey Data User Groups (ACS DUG) Steering Committee Our members, approximately 10 to 12, provide feedback to PRB and the Census Bureau on ACS-related activities (such as data user events, biannual ACS data user conferences, and data user surveys), data products, and dissemination channels. Both groups are informal and non-advisory and do not provide the Census Bureau with recommendations resulting from group deliberations or discussions.
