ChatGPT becomes even more useful.
OpenAI on Monday announced its latest artificial intelligence large-scale language model that makes ChatGPT smarter and easier to use.
The new model, called GPT-4o, is an update from the company's previous GPT-4 model, which was released about a year ago. This model will also be available to free customers, giving everyone access to his OpenAI cutting-edge technology through ChatGPT.
Based on the company's demonstration Monday, GPT-4o will effectively turn ChatGPT into a digital personal assistant capable of real-time voice conversations. You can also interact using text and “vision”. This means you can view and have conversations about screenshots, photos, documents, or charts that users have uploaded.
Mira Murati, chief technology officer at OpenAI, said the updated version of ChatGPT will also include memory capabilities, allowing it to learn from previous conversations with users and provide real-time translation.
“This is the first time we've really taken a big step forward in terms of ease of use,” Murati said during a live demo from the company's San Francisco headquarters. “This interaction becomes more natural and much easier.”
This new release comes as OpenAI seeks to stay ahead of the growing competition in the AI arms race. Rivals like Google and Meta are working to build increasingly powerful large-scale language models that can be used to power chatbots and bring AI technology to a variety of other products.
The OpenAI event will be held one day before Google's annual I/O developer conference, where the company is expected to announce updates to its Gemini AI model. Like his new GPT-4o, Google's Gemini is also multimodal. This means it can interpret and generate text, images, and audio. The OpenAI update comes ahead of Apple's planned AI announcements at next month's Worldwide Developers Conference, and could include new ways to incorporate AI into the next iPhone and iOS releases.
Meanwhile, the latest GPT release could be a boon for Microsoft, which has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI to incorporate its AI technology into its products.

OpenAI executives demonstrate GPT-4o, the company's latest large-scale language model.
OpenAI executives demonstrated voice conversations with ChatGPT to get real-time instructions to solve math problems, tell bedtime stories, and get coding advice. ChatGPT could speak not only in a natural human-like voice, but also in a robotic voice, and could even sing some of its responses. The tool also allowed viewing and discussion of chart images.
They also presented a model to detect user emotions. In one case, he listened to an executive's breathing and encouraged him to calm down.
“You're not a vacuum cleaner!” ChatGPT's female voice (which looks a lot like the digital companion voiced by Scarlett Johansson in the 2013 film “Her”) jokingly tells the staffer.
ChatGPT allows conversations in multiple languages by automatically translating and responding. According to OpenAI, the tool currently supports over 50 languages.
“The new audio (and video) mode is the best computer interface I've ever used,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a blog post after the announcement. “It feels like an AI from a movie. I'm still a little surprised that it's real. Reaching human-level response times and expressiveness turns out to be a big change. Ta.”
Murati said OpenAI will release a ChatGPT desktop app with GPT-4o functionality, giving users another platform to interact with the company's technology. GPT-4o will also be available to developers who want to build their own custom chatbots from OpenAI's GPT store, and this feature will also be available to free users.
Updated technology and features will be rolled out to ChatGPT in the coming months. Free His Chat GPT users will have a limited number of interactions with the new His GPT-4o model until the tool automatically relies on the old GPT-3.5 model. Paid users will have access to more messages with the latest model.
According to OpenAI, over 100 million people already use ChatGPT. But the updated ChatGPT experience and the ability to interact on the desktop and through improved voice conversations could give even more people a reason to use the technology. The move could make the companies' technology more widely and easily available as Google and Meta integrate AI into more widely used consumer products such as Instagram and Google Assistant. It took place inside.
