Investors will be closely watching consumer price data and the Fed minutes for clues about the Fed's plans to cut rates next year, after last week's strong jobs report lowered the odds of a rate cut.
U.S. employers added a whopping 303,000 employees to their payrolls in March, according to a government report.

The March inflation rate (Consumer Price Index (CPI)) and the Fed's March FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) minutes will be released on Wednesday, April 10th.
Producer Price Index (PPI) statistics for March will be released on Thursday, April 11th.
On April 12th (Friday), the Import Price Index (IPI) for March and consumer sentiment report for April will be released.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.77%, the S&P 500 rose 0.96%, and the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 1.09%.

Benchmark U.S. crude oil for May delivery added 32 cents to $86.91 a barrel on Friday. Brent crude oil for June delivery rose 52 cents to $91.17 a barrel.
Gold for June delivery rose $36.90 to $2,345.40 an ounce. Silver for May delivery added 25 cents to $27.50 an ounce.
