Indians love street food. The country's bustling bazaars would not be complete without stalls selling attractive food items. A video of a street vendor in Kolkata making 'pithai paratha' has grabbed the attention of the internet.
The video shows a street vendor mercilessly “smacking” a well-cooked paratha in an attempt to flatten it. Once the parathas have some shape, the vendor weighs them and finally serves them with a plate of potatoes and chickpeas and an egg.
Food vlogger Vihan Sharma shared the video on Instagram and wrote, “Kolkata's Pithai Paratha.”

The video drew hilarious reactions on social media, with one user saying, “He literally killed 99.9% of germs.” Another user mocked India and commented, “Is there sanitary crime in India?”
Replying to a comment about the quality of food in India, one user claimed: “To those talking about hygiene: We have watched hundreds of broadcasts of Italians making pasta without gloves, and no one has mentioned anything about hygiene. No. So why does it automatically imply that the food is unsanitary when we see Indians doing the same? Just wondering. .”
Recently, another food video sparked controversy among foodies on social media. After the video of 'Barbie Pink Biryani' went viral, users accused the makers of ruining the dish.
