A beloved DIY destination for all ages in East Nashville Dokmutulopened in 2015 but has struggled to stay afloat since the pandemic. They launched Patreon in 2020 and are currently awaiting nonprofit approval. In the meantime, they have launched a crowdfunding campaign to fill the gap. Those people write:
As Nashville's longest-running all-ages venue, we've championed artistic diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility since our founding, and thrived as a hub for creative collaboration. It’s been a wild ride since 2015. Who would have thought we would be lucky enough to continue to serve our community through diverse and unique live music and events, from our basement to renting out our old home, from our barbershop to Dickerson Pike? We are very excited to continue working on our expanded mission through our new Drkmttr 501c3.
It's been a long and arduous transition while running my current business, but I'm at the finish line. While we await approval as a nonprofit organization, we are facing significant expenses that require immediate attention. Your support will help us cover essential costs and ensure our work can continue uninterrupted. Every dollar you donate makes a difference, whether it's supporting talented artists, helping with ticket costs, or providing free space for community use.
MVAN (Music Venue Alliance Nashville) has pledged to donate $5,000 towards Drkmttr's goal of $15,000.
If you would like to help, we can help you here. A $100 donation will provide you with the following digital downloads: Live from Drkmttr Vol. 1 – Featuring Horse Jumper of Love, Sweet Pill, Bleary and more, out May 31st.
Drkmtter's upcoming show schedule includes Enumclaw, Gustaf, Queen of Jean, See You Next Tuesday, Orphy, Rui Gabriel, Suffocate Faster, Hello Mary, and more.
