Method:
- eat banana
- Save the banana peel
- Rub it all over your face, concentrating on problem areas
- Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then wash it off.
- Repeat 2-3 times a week
“Say you have wrinkles that you want to get rid of, or maybe you're a young person like me who wants to prevent wrinkles,” she added.
It was a very easy process. First, let's eat a banana.
“So, apply banana peel all over the affected area of your forehead.
“Just rub it in well, leave it on for 20 minutes, and then wash it off,” she said.
“Do this two to three times a week, or every time you eat a banana.
“Apply it on areas where you have wrinkles,” she said, looking fresh and glowing.
Experts at the Cleveland Clinic were less convinced about the face mask's appeal.
“There's no scientific evidence that rubbing banana peels on your face helps,” says Dr. Taylor Block, a dermatology resident.
However, there were some good points as well.
“Banana is very rich in antioxidants,” Dr. Block added.
“Antioxidants are great natural substances for the body, including the skin, and are great additions to skin care,” he said.
But there may be a better way to care for your skin, he said.
“In theory, you could probably get some antioxidants by rubbing the peel on your skin,” he says.
“However, if your goal is to develop an antioxidant-rich skin care routine, it's much better to apply antioxidant-rich skin care products to your face instead,” he concluded.
Commenters had mixed reactions.
“I used this to whiten my teeth,” said one person.
“Yes, girl. I used it. That's my secret,” said another person's positive experience.
“I did this. My grandma said it was good for the face,” another added.
