She is the queen of arts and crafts. And now Stacey Solomon has revealed how she gave her simple £30 bargain on Facebook a brand new look on the cheap.
Even though Stacey has the funds to buy chic furniture, that doesn't mean the mother-of-five won't say no to a fun DIY project. One of her latest Instagram videos is proof of that.
Panelist Ruth Women, 34, recently revealed how she turned an old cream cupboard she found on Facebook Marketplace into a 'wrapping station'.
“I've always wanted to do this,” the mother said in the video, adding that it cost £30.
Once the gorgeous wooden cupboards arrived, Stacey, who shot to fame when she first appeared on The X Factor in 2009, removed all the shelves and doors.
“I took the hinges off the door and screwed them onto the shelf, so I could create an inside-out surface that I could wrap around,” the Sort Your Life Out star explained.
To make the wrapping station even fancier, Stacey replaced the old knobs with funky gold scissor-style knobs that fit perfectly with the theme and four pink buttons at the bottom.
“Then I bought a tension rod, put a piece of wrapping paper on top of the tension rod and shoved it in the cupboard.
“Then I used some small hooks for scissors and a small clear shelf for other accessories.”
While setting up the wrapping station, the wise mother confessed that she always forgets everyone's birthdays. That's why I also added a little calendar to remind me of special days.
Meanwhile, the drawer was filled with paper bags, tissues, greeting cards, and other gift accessories that I had previously kept in an old IKEA basket that I had spray-painted.
“And lo, the gift station is finished! I love it! It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!” exclaimed her mother.
“Now I no longer have to scour a packed venue just to get a birthday card.”
She added in the caption, “This will be my little cupboard that lives in my office and holds heaven forever.”
The clip went viral after being shared on the platform, where Stacey boasts nearly 6 million followers, gaining 4.9 million views in just one day.
Hundreds of stunned DIYers flooded the comments praising the crafty mum, with one writing: “This is ace!”
Another begged, “Next time, please give me my fishing rack.”
Someone else chimed in, “I'm so jealous of how creative and crafty you are!”
“I wish I could do something like this!” You can't even replace the door handle on a regular door. ”
“I want it but I don't even need it,” wrote a fourth.
