Featured Tips:
Lime Wash
Supplies needed:
• Limewash paint (may need to be mixed depending on what you use)
• Acrylic primer (to absorb lime cleaner)
• Natural bristle block brush
• Masking tape and tarpaulins to keep the area clean.
1. Apply a coat of acrylic primer to previously painted surface or drywall.
2. Using a block brush, paint the limewash in a cloud technique. Essentially, you're forming little clouds with multi-directional strokes across the wall. Maintain a “live edge” so that the edges of the limewash paint are always wet.
3. Once you have applied the first coat, allow it to dry. You will need to apply at least two coats, preferably three.
Crockpot Hardware Peeling
Supplies:
- An old crockpot (you probably won't want to use it to cook with after you've used it to strip the paint off!)
- Dishwashing detergent
- Tongs
- Small pick
- WD-40
procedure:
1. Add water, 1 teaspoon of dish soap, and the painted hardware to a saucepan.
2. Cook the crockpot on low heat all day (about 8 hours).
3. Remove the fittings with tongs and drain the dirty water.
4. The paint will peel off.
5. Use pickers to clean up details
6. Spray with WD-40 to prevent rust
