Miami, April 9, 2024 – Miami Dade College (MDC) has built an important partnership with excellencia in Education is the nation's premier authority on efforts to advance the success of Latinx students in higher education.today excellencia releases “Latinos in Higher Education: A 2024 Overview.” A series of fact sheets containing a wealth of information about the profile of Latinx students and their paths to college.

MDC is one of 24 universities nationwide to support the publication of this research and has a unique role in: Mr. Excelencia Communication network. This is his one of only 39 institutions to earn the prestigious seal. excellencia, a national credential for institutions that intentionally serve Latinx students beyond enrollment. These seal accrediting institutions represent less than 1% of universities, enroll 15% of all Latino students, and graduate 17%.
Mr. Excelencia The analysis shows that Latinos are more likely than any other group to be the first in their families to attend college and receive federal Pell grants, but they are less likely to take out student loans. Latinos also have the highest labor force participation rates, but are more likely to work in lower-paying occupations. Institutions that enroll Latinos are primarily Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs), which account for 20% of colleges and universities and educate 63% of all Latinos in the country.

Our network of colleges and universities are working together to transform higher education. Although the P4LSS network accounts for only 6% of institutions, 33% of all Latino students enroll and 35% graduate.
