Floral? For spring? groundbreaking.

A-listers were invited to let their imaginations run wild with the 2024 dress code, “The Garden of Time,” inspired by JG Ballard’s short story of the same name.
Most stars took it literally, drawing inspiration from flowers, petals, branches and leaves, while others played with the short story's themes of time and history.
Here are the 22 most eye-catching outfits:
1. Camila Cabello really needs gloves.
Usually when stars talk about wearing ice, they're referring to diamonds. But in Camila Cabello's case, she's referring to actual frozen water.
“My hands are really cold,” the singer said, explaining that after climbing the stairs, she intended to hand the giant block to someone else. “I can't feel my hands.”
A large block of ice had a rose painted in its center, which decorated Ludovic de Saint-Sernin's dress. The dress reportedly used 250,000 crystals and took more than 450 hours to make.
2. Levi and Edebiri split into two.
Bear star Ayo Edebiri and Schitt's Creek actor and writer Dan Levy both kept their floral designs low, wearing costumes that looked traditional from above but had flowers from the waist down. I chose.
Edebiri wore a backless column dress with hand-embroidered floral patterns intended to create the illusion of gradual blooming.

3. Demi Moore is ready for archery
We have to hand it to her, Demi Moore had the best look of the night, even if she forgot to bring her bow along with the arrows.
The actress' velvet dress, designed by Harris Reid, was adorned with giant pink peonies made from vintage archival wallpaper.
Reed said the dress took more than 5,000 hours to make, adding that the design was designed to give the appearance of decaying flowers as they flow down the dress.
4. Lana Del Rey branched out
Singer Lana Del Rey hasn't attended the Met Gala since 2018, so she decided she needed to overhaul her fashion sense.
She wore a corset dress of silk, double georgette and tulle. This dress references Alexander McQueen's work from nearly 20 years ago and has been brought up to date by the fashion house's current creative director, Sean McGill.
But the highlight was a special headpiece made from natural hawthorn branches.

Two months after announcing her second pregnancy, a glowing Lea Michele walked the carpet in a turquoise Rodarte dress with a tulle cape.
The Glee star and her husband Zandy Reich, who share 3-year-old son Ever Leo, said they were “so happy” to be expecting again.

If you need someone to bring you flowers in the pouring rain, Nicki Minaj has your back.

Her look was completed by a bob hairstyle with an arched bubble ponytail.
7. Bad Bunny brought a bouquet of flowers.
Did Bad Bunny look like he pulled his suit jacket out of the sewing machine before the tailor had actually finished making it? Yes. But he still looked great.
The rapper and singer wore a navy blue Renaissance-inspired custom Maison Margiela suit with white threads resembling pinstripes.
He carried a bouquet made of the same material as his jacket, but reportedly roses, flor de maga (Puerto Rico's national flower), and the flax on which Sleeping Beauty pricked her finger on the fairy. It is said that it resembles a mixture of plants. story.

9. Lil Nas X was successful.
The singer and rapper wore a lure white suit featuring asymmetrical panels of shimmering silver sequin fabric and curved buttons.
From the standpoint of adhering to the dress code, I think she could have added a few more marigolds to her outfit, but I'll settle for a single white rose adorning her collar.
On the green carpet, Lil Nas X told BBC's Brandon Drennon that he had reconsidered attending earlier in the day, but ultimately decided: It's a cool kids club. ”

Why wear clothes that look like flowers and trees when you can pay homage to the birds that fly among them?

Not that the rest of his outfit isn't nice, but we have to zoom in on Josh O'Connor's shoes.

Perhaps an innovative idea, but Tyra's movements were so restricted that she had to ask for help climbing the stairs.
15. Uma Thurman channeled an extinct butterfly
The Kill Bill star teamed up with Tory Burch to pay homage to insects in a purple and blue dress made from taffeta and decorated with three-dimensional butterflies.

Get used to seeing these two together. Because they just shot a movie that's shaping up to be one of his biggest releases this year.

Dressed in a striking red dress and black sheer striped cape designed by Maison Margiela, Christie is definitely turning heads in Tim Burton's next film.
20. Cardi B didn't get the flower memo
I'm not sure how her dress links to the theme, but who cares? There's really no situation in life that can't be improved by Cardi B.

There were nine men helping her carry her dress.

22. Zendaya started changing costumes.
The actress, who recently appeared in Dune: Part 2 and Challengers, was one of the co-chairs of this year's Met Gala.

But the world's hottest star wasn't done yet.
