BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Louisiana has moved up in the U.S. rankings for pre-K through 12th grade education, according to a new report.
According to U.S. News & World Report's Best States Rankings, Louisiana currently ranks 40th.
“This positive growth reflects the hard work of our students and teachers,” said Louisiana State Superintendent Cade Brumley. “While we are encouraged, we also recognize that we still have much work to do to provide a high-quality education for all students.”
Louisiana improved five spots in the same ranking between 2019 and 2023, according to last year's data.
Preschool enrollment also saw another jump in rankings, with Louisiana jumping from No. 9 to No. 7 in this year's rankings, according to LDOE.
