King Charles' medical records were not accessed in the alleged breach of Duchess Kate's personal information at a London clinic on Wednesday.
The 75-year-old monarch, who is currently undergoing outpatient cancer treatment at a high-end private hospital, underwent “corrective surgery” for an enlarged prostate in January.
There, doctors discovered “another concern” that needed treatment. Buckingham Palace later clarified that the cancer was not prostate cancer.
However, according to the PA news agency, Charles' data was not compromised while he worked at one of Britain's top medical facilities in the highly exclusive Marylebone area.
London Clinic's chief executive said the hospital would take all “regulatory and disciplinary action” as three staff members were being investigated for alleged offences.
“Everyone at the London Clinic is keenly aware of our personal, professional, ethical and legal obligations regarding patient confidentiality,” Al Russell said in a statement to the Post on Wednesday.
“We take great pride in the exceptional care and thoughtfulness we seek to provide to all of our patients who trust us every day.”
He said the hospital “has systems in place to monitor this.” [the] “Management of Patient Information,” and vowed that any violations would result in “all appropriate investigative, regulatory, and disciplinary action.”
“There is no place in our hospital for anyone who willfully violates the trust of our patients and colleagues,” Russell said.
His comments came days after hospital officials alleged that at least one staff member attempted to access Middleton's medical records during her hospitalization in January.
In comments to the Mirror, an anonymous insider said the leak was “incredibly damaging to the hospital given its unblemished reputation for treating members of the royal family”.
The Princess of Wales, 42, is thought to have been aware of the situation.
During her stay at the historic medical center, Middleton was kept in a private room under the close care of doctors and nurses.
The London Clinic is also considered one of the most exclusive medical facilities and boasts state-of-the-art equipment and wards for urology, gynecology, thoracic surgery, orthopedics and spine surgery procedures.
According to the UK's healthcare watchdog, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the hospital sees around 23,000 inpatients a year and a further 110,000 outpatients, including King Charles. It will be done.
