As part of a major agenda item, Killeen ISD School Board members will consider teacher contract offers and other employment contract offers for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to background information provided in the board's agenda, the Texas Education Code requires a contract for all educators who hold positions that require an educator certificate. New educators in the district receive a probationary contract in their first year. Those who have not attended public education in five of the past eight years will receive a three-year probationary contract. Everyone else receives her one-year term contract. The Board of Trustees is expected to approve offers for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Additionally, Trustees are expected to approve administrative and professional support contract renewals, extensions, and employment contract proposals for the 2024-2025 school year.
Other actions to be taken include approving a task request to Huckabee for design services for a future federal building renovation project.
The quarterly investment report ending February 29 will also be submitted for review and approval.
Tuesday's consent agenda includes approval of the minutes of the March 5 and 26 meetings. District materials, technology assignments, and certification of essential knowledge and skills for the 2024-2025 school year. Replacement project and contractor to replace school nutrition kitchen equipment. Appointment of election judges and alternates for the May 4 election.
Other items on the agenda include a resolution granting an easement to Bartlett Electric Cooperative for a transportation facility on Trimier Road in South Killeen.
On Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., board members will recognize employees who have served the district for 30 years or more. No business will be conducted and the public forum will begin at the regular board meeting.
Regular board meetings begin on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in the administration building, 200 SWS Young Drive.
