Kent State interior defensive lineman CJ West is trending toward Indiana. 247Sports national reporter Matt Zenitz predicts IU will land a coveted portal prospect.
Mr. West visited Indiana last month.
At 6-foot-2 and 315 pounds, West is considered one of the best defensive linemen in the portal. 247Sports ranks him as the top uncommitted defensive lineman and 10th uncommitted player in the transfer portal.
LSU, Wisconsin, Rutgers and Michigan are also heavily involved along with several other Power Four schools. He also recently visited Wisconsin and Michigan.
West earned third-team All-MAC honors along the defensive line, leading the team with seven tackles and tying for the team-high with two sacks. He improved his performance in conference play, with four of his tackles for loss coming against conference opponents.
The Chicago native recorded 40 total tackles, ranking second on the Flashes' defensive line.
Over four seasons at Kent State, West recorded 110 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks in 39 games.
West has one year of eligibility remaining and a redshirt season if needed.
