Heading into festival season in a big way, Kasabian have today unveiled new track 'Darkest Lullaby', the latest release from their upcoming album 'Happenings', due for release on July 5th, following recent tracks 'Call', 'Coming Back To Me Good' and 'Algorithms'.
The retro-inspired, groovy single is accompanied by a film trailer video starring the band, paying homage to the lo-fi, slightly grungy aesthetic of 70s B-movies, of which Serge commented: “Darkest Lullaby is based on a lost film from the 1970s. The music video is a trailer for this fictional film that was never made. It was shot and produced by a ragtag group of artists having the time of their lives.”
The video's directing duo, Bedroom (The 1975, Arlo Parks), added: “Imagine stumbling across a film reel from a forgotten movie that was never completed and left lying around, showing a jaded private investigator descending into the depths of a dangerous mission filled with bloodthirsty gangster thugs, psycho-stimulant torture and all the inglorious dangers of the grindhouse/B-movie legacy. This was the concept for the music video, and it couldn't have been realized without the enthusiasm of the band, who threw themselves effortlessly into the roles!”
