Two new Dell laptops powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X AI processors are expected to launch in August or September of this year. The new model, recently revealed by sources contacted by Windows Report, also features a dedicated Copilot Key that Microsoft will launch in early 2024, indicating Redmond's commitment to AI. .
Dell's first Arm 'Oryon' core architecture laptops are expected to be the Inspiron 14 7441 Plus and XPS 13 9345, and we've seen images of these devices through sources. According to the leaked photos, both laptops maintain the overall look of the previous product line, although the former has undergone some changes.
For example, the 7441 Plus looks thinner than current Inspiron laptops, but at the same time maintains an ergonomic, rounded-edge design. The XPS 13 9345, on the other hand, looks virtually identical to the 2023 Dell XPS Plus, including the touch feature row and borderless trackpad.
Since these laptops are focused on AI, they are reported to launch around the same time as Microsoft releases the Windows 11 24H2 update. This update will include a new AI Explorer and a number of other AI features designed to take advantage of the NPU of the Snapdragon X processors used in new laptops.
These Dell laptops aren't the first Windows PCs to jump on the AI bandwagon. Other major laptop manufacturers such as Asus, Lenovo, and Samsung are also expected to launch their Snapdragon X computers. With Dell's entry, consumers will have a slew of AI-powered laptops this year, fueling the explosive growth of AI computing in the consumer space.
Experts estimate that the total value of the AI industry will reach $1.3 trillion by 2032, and companies are eager to jump in to capture a piece of that huge pie. This situation has been further exacerbated by Microsoft's moves to integrate AI into its operating systems, office software suites, and other products, particularly with the introduction of Copilot.
