A beauty enthusiast shares a DIY face cream recipe based on an ancient secret.
She shared her favorite cold cream skin care recipe in a TikTok video.
Rachel (@rachaelpontilloskincare) explained that she learned her beauty recipes from a class at Vintage Beauty Club.
“Discover the ancient herbal skin care secrets used by your grandmother's grandmother,” the site says.
The site makes it clear that it specializes in skin care that comes naturally from Mother Earth, rather than cosmetics from Ulta or Sephora.
“Long ago, before parabens, phthalates, Ulta, Sephora, and influencers told us what to buy, our ancestors harvested plants from their gardens to create natural beauty products. “They were 'shopping',” the site explained.
Instead of chemicals, the “ancient method” of making skin care involved gathering pressed oils from flowers, leaves, nuts and seeds.
Traditional methods of collecting sources of beauty remain in many cultures today.
“In Asia, the Americas, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the islands of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, sacred beauty rituals rooted in the earth continue to be celebrated in indigenous cultures and in the face of European colonization. “It remains in the tradition that has been passed down in secret,” the site said.
Rachel was excited to try out a face cream made with all-natural ingredients.

She shared the spread out ingredients that were prepped and ready to be laid out on the kitchen table.
She prepared a bowl with beeswax, mango butter, aloe vera gel, rose hydrosol, and tamanu oil.
She started by melting wax and butter in a pot on the stove.
Once the liquids were mixed and well incorporated, she transferred the solution to a food processor.
Then I added the rest of the ingredients and quickly mixed them together.
The end result was a thick white cream, which she tested on the back of her hand to see if she was allergic.
