Party Host Helpers has three craft ideas to brighten up your Mother's Day this year.
YORK, Pa. — Mother's Day is this weekend, and it's the perfect holiday to involve your kids in planning your celebration.
Party Host Helper shares three craft ideas that will captivate the kids and brighten up Mother's Day.
Patrone says this is a perfect craft for moms that toddlers will enjoy as well.
- egg carton
- paints or markers
- straw
- yellow pom pom
- seaweed
Cut the egg carton into 4 pockets. Color or paint the cut cartons to make the egg holder look like a flower. Glue a pom-pom to the part where the four pockets connect to create a pistil. Glue a straw between the two pockets to create a stem.
April showers bring May flowers
A simple but adorable gift that will make mom smile.
- children's rain boots
- Flowers (both fresh and artificial)
Fill your child's rain boots with fresh or artificial flowers for a thoughtful burst of seasonal cheer.
“Flowers are obviously a traditional favorite for Mother's Day,” said Renee Patrone Rhinehart, founder and CEO of Party Host Helpers. “But why not put it inside your child's rain boots? It's so cute. You can put it on your front porch or on the counter. You can use it to decorate a store-bought bouquet. It's a very nice way. They look a little fancy.”
Another option is to plan a tea party that will impress your mom. Patrone suggests offering tea sandwiches, such as cucumber or cream cheese. For moms who like sweet things, we recommend something fruity to accompany tea. You can make your own Fruit She Tarts using Sugar She Cookie Dough, icing, and fruit, or you can buy them at the store. Patrone also recommends making cute strawberry mason jar shortcakes. All you need is sugar-dusted strawberries, pound cake, and cold whipped cream.
For a fun twist on a typical tea party, consider mixing tea cocktails instead of traditional tea. Patrone recommends this recipe from The Spruce Eats.
