Choirstaidh Iona McArthur, 28, teamed up with friend and singer Josie Duncan to compete in the Dublane DIY (instructions not included).
The competition will see six pairs battle it out for the title of champion and a cash prize of £2,000.
Hoping to inspire viewers to 'do it themselves' in the name of sustainability, the format sees competitors take part in a series of home improvement tasks with a twist.
You must complete the assignment without the aid of instructions, guidelines, or demonstrations.
Ms Quiersteid, who studied at Glasgow School of Art, told the Tele that taking part in the TV show was a real thrill.
She said: “Josie and I hit pretty rock bottom.
“In some challenges we were successful. In more realistic challenges, we were like, 'Wow!'
“We're both really creative and crafty, but it's been a little bit hit and miss when it comes to creating something that lasts.
“We are very supportive of each other, but we also have our downsides.
“Josie managed to use the saw to cut the piece of wood she wanted, and we both cheered and clapped and said, 'We're so proud of you.' I did.
“We are definitely the underdogs in this competition.”
Choirstaidh has been involved in Gaelic media education since nursery school and has worked in Gaelic media for several years.
Her mother Fiona was a nursery teacher at the old Highlanders Academy in Greenock and learned the language on the job.
The show is filmed in Gaelic but will also have English subtitles.
Choirstaidh hopes the language will be a good introduction for anyone interested in learning it.
She added: “I think it’s a really good idea to have more shows like this on this channel.

“Just seeing people hanging out and doing things feels much more familiar and makes you feel safe.
“I think it's a good idea to memorize a few phrases.
“You can hear how people use different phrases and how they usually talk to each other.”
The first episode of Dùbhlain DIY (instructions not included) airs on Mondays at 8:30pm on BBC ALBA, with new episodes released weekly.
Choirstaidh and Josie appear in episode 2.
