Former F1 driver Christian Albers thinks it is “scary” that Christian Horner still has so much power at Red Bull.
Red Bull team principal Horner has been the subject of numerous headlines over the past six weeks after Red Bull confirmed that the British player was under investigation for alleged inappropriate behavior.
Christian Albers: I think more things will surface.
Red Bull's dismissal of an investigation on the eve of the Bahrain Grand Prix did nothing to calm the storm.
The uproar also spread to Saudi Arabia, fueled by comments from Jos Verstappen calling for Mr Horner to resign, shortly after a heated argument between the two was witnessed, with Helmut Marko now calling for further investigations into leaks about Mr Horner. It has been revealed that there is a possibility that he will be suspended as the incident is ongoing. Horner survey.
In response, Max Verstappen expressed his support for Marko by saying that he would also leave Red Bull if Marko was expelled.
That threat was quashed 24 hours later when Marko said he would “stay on” as the team's motorsport advisor after a meeting with Red Bull's senior management.
However, the fact that Horner remains in charge of Red Bull is a worry for former F1 driver Albers.
Speaking on De Telegraaf's podcast, he said it was “scary” that Horner still held so much power within the Red Bull camp.
“Because,” he added. I think more will surface.
“Then, as expected, [Horner has] This drive and the feeling of envy that you can still take the number one spot and cut everyone's heads off. ”

Albers also credited Marko, not Horner, with the success of Red Bull's driver program, which has seen Sebastian Vettel and Verstappen win multiple titles with the F1 team.
“If you think about it very realistically, which driver did he put in the car and which driver did Dr. Marco put in the car?” he said. “When it comes to success, with all due respect, all the success comes from Marco.
“So when you start thinking seriously about who has a view on talent, there's no debate about it at all. It's Dr. Marco, who has always made the right choices.”
Speaking to Saudi media, Horner made it clear who is in charge of Red Bull Racing.
“I think other parties have probably already said too much,” the 50-year-old said in Saudi Arabia.
“The team is a team, Max is part of the team, Helmut is part of the team, I lead this team and everyone has an important role to play.”
