The Department of Workers' Compensation (DWC) now offers free online educational courses for the workers' compensation community, including healthcare providers, claims managers, case managers, attorneys, and human resources managers. Training modules are aligned with educational tools on using the Medical Utilization Schedule (MTUS), tips for qualified medical evaluators (QMEs), and writing medico-legal reports.
All three courses are eligible for free education credits for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and QME. In addition, QME and MTUS training modules qualify for continuing education credits for MCLE (California Bar), SHRM (HR Management Society), CRCC (Council of Rehabilitation Counselors), CDMS (Certified Disability Management Specialist), and IEA (Insurance) You can also get Educational Association), CCMC (Case Manager Certification Commission).
When taken together, these courses can earn up to 5.5 hours of educational credit.
The Planned Health Utilization (MTUS) course covers the use of MTUS as required by the California Workers' Compensation System.
