He said, “I felt like I was in a position of influence and it was my job to exercise that influence.” [and] Share: This is who I support. I won't do that. I was the most followed man in the world then, and I still am. He's grateful for that…but what it caused was something that tore my guts apart, a breakup. It fascinated me. I didn't realize it at the time, but I just felt like there was a lot of anxiety going on, so I hope things calm down. ”
Mr. Johnson continued. “The aftermath is that it's been incredibly divisive. Now, going into this election, I know I won't do that. My goal is to bring this country together. I believe it. There is no recognition. At this level of influence, I keep my politics private. It is between me and the ballot box. But I will say this: Let me say this: Like many of us in the world, I don't trust all politicians, but I trust the American people and I know that the person they vote for is my president. , I support that person 100 percent.”
FOX News' Will Cain asked Johnson if he was satisfied with the current state of affairs in America, to which Johnson replied, “No.”
“The cancel culture, the woke culture, the divisiveness that we have today is really upsetting,” Johnson said. “In that spirit, you either give in and become what other people want you to be, or you just be who you are…and that may upset or anger people, and that's okay. is.”
Mr Johnson also said he had no interest in running for president yet, explaining: I'm not a politician. ”
Mr Johnson first broached the idea of running for president in 2017, when he exclusively said: variety He said it was a “realistic consideration” for 2024. In a 2022 interview with “CBS Mornings,” he said running for president was “off the table.” Dad, number one, especially at this critical time in my daughters' lives. ”
“My 22-year-old daughter, Simone, and I like to say we grew up together,” Johnson said on Trevor Noah's Spotify podcast “What Now?” last year. “I know what it's like to be in a profession that took me away. As a full-time professional wrestler, when she came into this world, I wrestled 230 times a year for many years. So I know what it's like to be apart, not being able to attend birthdays and drop-offs and everything else. And I now know what it's like to want something like that for my little ones. I’m not here.”
In the same podcast, Johnson said that multiple political parties are betting on Johnson in 2022, after Noah mentioned that 2021 political polls showed 46% of American adults supported Johnson's presidential campaign. He announced that he had been asked if he would like to run as a candidate.
“There was an interesting poll that was done and I was really moved by it,” Johnson said. “I was really surprised and really honored. I'll tell you a little bit about this. At the end of 2022, I received a visit from a political party and they asked me if I was going to run and if I could run.”
“It was a big deal and it happened out of the blue,” Johnson continued. “One after the other, they brought up that poll and also their own in-depth research to prove whether or not I should go down that path. [I’d be a real contender]. It all felt so unrealistic because that wasn't my goal. My goal was not to become a politician. The truth is, there's a lot to dislike about politics. ”
