Let's give up for the sake of our teachers! ! ! If the age of COVID-19 has taught me anything, it's that we should all appreciate educators more, because their job is basically impossible. That's it. Our family is big teacher lovers, so when Teacher Appreciation Week approaches, I want to make something special for them. This school year was really creative for us as it was the kids' first year in a new school. I was very moved by how not only the children but also the administrators and teachers welcomed us with open arms. It's great for my bigs to immediately feel like they're part of the community again. I have tried my best to do my part in the community by volunteering at the school every week. As Teacher Appreciation Week approaches, there are other ways to put in the money.
One thing I've always heard from every teacher I've ever talked to is that the gift they want is a gift card. Full stop. No more mugs please! Gift cards can feel a little impersonal, so I like to make something at home to showcase them. This year, I came up with a DIY succulent gift card holder. It has a “growth'' theme for the school year and is very easy to make with your child. I love how it turned out! From above it looks like a cactus with cute little flowers, but when you pull it out of the pot it reveals a gift card. The children wrote special messages for each teacher on the front banner. Check out the step-by-step video. A list of materials can be found below. If you decide to make these, please let me know!
