HAI NOI — Coach Park Han-seo has returned to Vietnamese football as an advisor to Bac Ninh FC.
South Korean coach Park officially signed a five-year contract with third-division team Bakunin on Monday.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mr. Park will oversee a variety of operations, from professional and business activities to the ambitious goal of developing Bakunin into a professional soccer team.
Park's agent, DJ Management & Inspired Asian Management, said his contract would allow him to also serve as a coach if he receives offers from domestic or international clubs or associations.
Park said, “After my contract with the Vietnam national team expired, I felt a strong desire to continue contributing to the development of Vietnamese soccer in order to repay the love I received from Vietnam.''
“I have established a football academy in Vietnam and are currently training many promising players. The contract with Bac Ninh will be my second project. The club's operating system is still in its early stages, but gradually I will continue to dedicate myself to developing into a professional football team.
I'm excited to work with a team with passion and strategic vision. We will do our best.
“We are also in discussions with other associations and clubs about management roles and will consider our options carefully before making a decision.”

Bac Ninh hopes that the strategic partnership with Park will build a strong foundation for the club over the next 10 years and enable it to advance to Vietnam's highest level of professional tournaments.
After leaving the Vietnam national team, Park is focusing on his personal projects. Recently, his soccer academy in Hanoi facilitated a friendly match for Korean players.
South Korean media reported that Park is being considered as one of the candidates to replace Jurgen Klinsmann as interim coach of the South Korean national team.
Pak achieved legendary status in Vietnam after leading a golden generation of talented players to success at both regional and continental levels.
After assuming the leadership of the Vietnam national team in 2017, Park made a huge impact at the AFC U23 Championship in China, leading the team to an impressive runner-up finish.
A year later, Coach Park's team won the AFF Cup 2018. After that, Vietnam advanced to the quarterfinals of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 held in the United Arab Emirates, but unfortunately lost to Japan 0-1.
In addition, Coach Park's team made its first appearance in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian 3rd round qualifiers. Although ultimately unsuccessful, they did put in some notable performances, including a 3-1 win against China and a 1-1 draw against Japan. —VNS
